At night, Porto becomes a magical city, where the play of lights on the ups and downs of the city leave no one indifferent. The best views can be enjoyed from Cais de Gaia, which is full of bars and restaurants and Porto Wine Cellars that provide a panoramic view.

One of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city, inhabited by Italian immigrants, is home to dozens of great restaurants and hundreds of properties like houses, churches, theaters and architectural complexes, such as stairs, squares and parks, dating from the early twentieth century. There is also the Don Orione square, which on Sundays since 1982 houses the Arts and Antiques Fair of Bixiga, with period furniture, LPs, clothes, old magazines, toys, silverware and much more. The neighborhood is also home to one of the largest samba schools of the country, Vai-Vai, and during the year you can find the remains of gigantic ornaments used at the party.

You will find the spiritual connection with this natural tidal swimming pool. You might feel the freezing water when you jump into the water, but soon you will be fine and enjoy the quiet swim experience. Dogs are welcome for this swimming pool too, if they are brave enough to swim with you in the sea water.

One of my favorite place to eat when there is nothing in the fridge. It may look like a traditional french bistro, but the food is anything but. The chef Kaori Endo is serving Franco-Japanese little plates for lunch and big plate to share with friends during the diner. There is also many lovely natural wines and I strongly recommend that "Lou Cantoun" glass of natural white wine !

South Willard is both elegant and laid back. Let's call it High Folk. It functions as both an art & design gallery and boutique. It's extremely well curated with a heavy focus on ceramics by artists both known and newly discovered. Peter Shire, Ruby Neri, Jason Meadows.., work by artists I have known and admired for decades can be found here and acquired in a means considerably more approachable than through the other galleries that represent them. South Willard is a friends and family affair and the experience feels warm and welcoming. Have fun.
