Langelinie is the central beach resort in Horsens, where people across age and background meet to enjoy the view, hang out with friends, play in the water, have picnics or take a stroll along the waterfront.  Historically, Langelinie developed during the late 1950s as part of the construction of the industrial harbor in Horsens, where waste soil lay the groundwork for a recreational area. With its closeness to the water and the marina, Langelinie has always been an attractive public area for leisure and outdoor activities. MÆRK Byen* has since 2017 created several temporary project at Langelinie to support the urban life and activities at the area. During the summer, Langelinie resents a variety of cultural events for all ages, e.g. outdoor yoga, building workshops, music, outdoor cinema and much more. During summer, Langelinie is also use as a circus place with elephants grassing nearby. *MÆRK Byen is an initiative that creates temporary urban spaces, cultural events and urban life in Horsens.
