One has to go the outskirts of Bergen to reach Sandviken Sjøbad (Sandviken Sea-bath), but its worth the travel as its location is in shelter for the wind as well as its free. In the perspective of a Landscape Architect its an interesting place with its level jumping and use of the materials, wood and concrete with the surrounding fells as a backdrop.

Red October is a former industrial area in central Moscow that's included a chocolate factory Red October, hence the name. Today it's one of the most flamboyant altough inconveniently located cultural quarters, full of art galleries, bars, fashion stores, a design school, night clubs and edtiorial offices of magazines. The photo (depicting a rather typical business redevelopment on the other shore of the Moskva River) was taken from a terrace that's part of the editorial office of Bolshoi Gorod magazine for which I have the privilege to photograph from time to time.

The Langstrasse is probably one of the most famous streets in Zurich. It's dirty, rough and full of life. A lot of nice bars, clubs and galleries are located around this street. Some may call it the heart of Zurich. If you're there, have a look at the bar Longstreet, the Perla Moda, the Zukunft and the Dante.

This thermal bath is located a bit outside of vienna but you can find a train to get there and its well worth it. there is 5 different basins, the one pictured being called forest-basin. There is no chlorid in any of them, the architechture of the entrance and the grand basin is amazing and you can see a most peculiar rest of a fomally rich culture of bathing traditions: cabins, that are permanently rent to guests that spend most of their summer there within the bath’s area. While you swim and dry you will walk by a family having their lunch in one of these 25 square meter universes, or watch men playing cards on the balconies, before taking another swim. The pools are located on different niveaus and you will have to find your way through a pretty little forest to reach some of them.

Alnis Stakle is a photography-based artist from Daugavpils, Latvia. He holds PhD in art education from Daugavpils University. Besides being artist, he teaches photojournalism and creative photography at Daugavpils University and Riga Stradins University. Since 2011 year he works on a project “Not Even Something” that is a research on the interstices in the city environment. Even though these interstices cover small territories, they are always intended for traversing rather than staying. No one wishes to linger there, because they are an intermediate between home and work, between one living space and another. These spaces are located between the meaningful and the meaningful, and themselves remain in the field of the insignificant and inessential. These are the places where we feel no desire to be in just like that, because with their aura of insignificance they not only make us feel as outsiders, but even “push” us away.
