Michael is a designer who has worked in New York since 2000. After leaving behind the bayous of Louisiana for NYC he received a masters degree in architecture from Columbia University. After school he began teaching and started SOFTlab, a design studio that is a unique blend of designers, artists, architects and educators who approach every project from a fresh perspective to create rich spatial, graphic, interactive and visual experiences. By mixing research, creativity and technology with a strong desire to make working fun, SOFTlab attempts to create new and unique experiences.

I document aspects of life in different appearance forms with photo and filmcamera. Based sometimes in Zurich and Berlin and on the move.

In my role at O Street I'm usually found spinning multiple plates, keeping projects running efficiently and getting stuck in with hands-on design. Having graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, I've been in Glasgow for over eight years where I've worked on everything from brand identities to packaging systems, merchandise to art direction, strategic workshops to creative direction. Along the way I've co-hosted Ladies Wine and Design Glasgow and helped to run our O Street event series Beertimes, and generally love a social get together. Katja Mater is a visual artist and filmmaker, interested in revealing a different or alternative (experience of) reality through capturing the areas where optical media hardly behave like the human eye, recording events that simultaneously can and cannot be – holding midway between information and interpretation. Next to her artist practice Mater is editor and art director for Girls Like Us Magazine; An independent magazine turning the spotlight on an international expanding community of lesbians and queers within arts, culture and activism. Through personal stories, essays and vanguard visuals Girls Like Us unfolds feminist legacies in arts, design and writing. Mixing politics with pleasure, the magazine maps collaborative routes towards a non-patriarchal future.

The work of Amsterdam based visual artist Martijn Sandberg, constantly explores border areas, such as the tension between text and image, legibility and illegibility, the private and the public domain. “I make Image Messages, image is message is image.” The image hides the message. In the cut paintings „Sorry No Image Yet‟ and „Too Busy To Paint‟ there is a subtle play between the language of the image and the significance of the image, and this gives rise to questions. Here, the lack of image seems to be elevated to an image by the artist. The direct relationship between the image, the material bearing the image and the environment is also expressed in his site-specific works in public space and architecture. As in „If These Walls Could Speak‟ that can be viewed in the lifts at the OBA Public Library Amsterdam, and the artwork „I Will Survive' located at the border of a burial ground in Hardenberg, The Netherlands. In 2010 „My Last Penny‟ by Martijn Sandberg is released as jaarpenning/ art medal 2010, issued by the Vereniging voor Penningkunst/ Dutch Art Medal Society in a multiple edition of 450 pieces.
