The LA Opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Grand Street in downtown LA is a must during the fall and holiday season when they have a solid lineup of opera and ballet. Very inspiring.

Vienna / Bar

This bar is in the foyer of the viennese popular theater. the name as well as the interior refer to the socialist direction, but if one imagines a dusty place full of missent ex-marxists it nowadays really is just a place with the ambiance of another time, that houses parties and changing clubs. I love the curtains, the fact that it is in the middle of the city and that one really feels a heavy ancient mood, that is forever related to the image of imperial vienna. it is this certain amount of pretentious pomp that makes going there, regardless of what club it is, surreal and nice.

I love this place. It’s almost always empty. I can think here, and look at the New York City skyline which is amazing and exciting and always inspiring and reminds me of how lucky I am to live here.

Here I am in the South Downs. This spot is around 5 minutes drive from the centre of Brighton. You can see for miles.

Delicious Japanese izakaya awaits behind the frosted windows. Their uni risotto and seared foie gras are decadent, and the truffles & organic mushrooms cream udon is out of this world. Reservations are a must.

Adi and I did the mural for our friend Joram's pizza place TOWN in Highland Park. They have an incredible Mole pie, Pesto Pie, and Mushroom Rosemary. Great vibes, great food.

Vancouver / Bar

It may see like I have an affinity for dingy looking doorways leading to amazing spots, but it just so happens that another of the best bars in Vancouver is hidden behind such an entrance. The Narrow plays great music ranging from heavy metal, to hard rock, classic rock, grunge, 70’s soul and everything in between. The atmosphere is awesome. It is small, dark, VERY loud (due to the music), and the red walls are adorned by rows of deer antlers a glowing neon cross. It has a massive liquor selection too.

Ting-Ting Cheng was born in Taipei, 1985, and graduated from MA Photographic Studies at University of Westminster, London in 2009. She had lived in London for three years. She is interested in applying photography, text and sound to scrutinize various facets of everyday-life objects and encounters. She has participated in exhibitions internationally, including solo show at Taipei Fine Art Museum in summer, 2011. After the exhibition, she has ‘half’ moved back to Taipei. Dutch born photographer Gijs van der Most is based in Los Angeles. Since he switched Amsterdam for Los Angeles about two years ago, he's been quickly becoming a favorite in the downtown Los Angeles photography scene. Gijs’ photography is direct, personal, and sometimes with a little wink. He's fascinated by people, their behavior and their environment. His documentary projects include “Used Car Salesmen”, “Yard Sales”, “Sign Jugglers”, and his most recent project " I ♥ Runyon Canyon". Even though Van der Most works are displayed in series, he doesn't waste a single image. Gijs has co-created the blog “van der THIS! “, with his comedian/writer wife Michelle Buteau fusing the photography and comedy world into a miniseries that is eye catching as well as entertaining. His passion for great imagery hasn’t been unnoticed by the popular style, culture, and design blog www.kaufmann-mercantile.com. Where he currently is working as photo editor.
