Built on the ruins of a church destroyed in WWII this museum designed by legendary Swiss architect Peter Zumthor really is a place of wonder and awe, a celebration of simplicity and purity.

This is another artistic centre that opened recently, this time housed in a former 19th century music hall that later became an indoor roller coaster attraction (yeah, really). The temporary exhibitions can be hit or miss, but I like hanging out in the free, open-to-all library on the first floor where you can sit in the futurist media pods and flip through the latest arts, culture, music, design and architecture magazines. Their shelves are also filled with a growing endowment of books which seem to be acquired according to the theme of the aforementioned exhibitions. Internet access is available on a dozen or so PCs (or via WiFi on your own machine) and for gamers, there are a few consoles connected to largish plasma screens. The café upstairs, with its classic baroque meets retro-futurist interior, is a sight to behold.

Wunderkammer is a retail store, so packed full of treasures that it feels like a natural history museum. Wonderful for browsing, Wunderkammer stocks medical and scientific instruments, crystals, rocks and other specimens.

Love it or hate it...If I'm in NY I want to feel it and see it, the view here is just incredible. Pretty people, strong drinks and late nights...

It was a warm evening in the city and not yet dark. We arrived, giddy and happy, and he ordered two glasses of prosecco. The waiter managed to fit onto our tiny wood table two plates of tartines, a legumes dish, and a tray of fromage. And then we shared dessert. I can’t remember exactly but it must have been chocolate.

All Espai Joliu-lovers rejoice! Very recently a second location called Orval has opened, and it’s only 10 minutes away from its big sister. Just above Ciutadella park, just like its predecessor does. It has plenty of natural light that comes in through the large windows. Another added benefit with the new location is that it consists of two floors instead of just one as in Espai Joliu. Both cafes have their unique charm: Espai Joliu has that rugged, Berlin-inspired atmosphere, and Orval an added modern touch. The concept of plants and coffee remains consistent here, with a similar drink menu (with many options, and great specialty coffee) and beautiful plants for sale. You will also find an array of magazines and guidebooks. The staff deserves an added mention, such a friendly bunch!

The best and one of the oldest restaurant in town to get the traditional danish open face sandwich. Unbeatable!!

Community gardens, divided into small private spaces, each owned by someone else. Located in downtown areas of the city are good opportunity for block of flats citizens of the area to grow their own veggies. In the winter – usually deserted or taken over homeless people for shelter.

The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth is located within the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth and is dedicated to displaying the numerous findings from the surrounding excavations. It is a small but rich museum, established in 1931 to host the findings of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, and it is housed in a modern building that was renovated in 2004. The museum's collection includes exhibits that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ancient Corinth from prehistoric times to the Roman era. It features a wide range of artifacts, including pottery, sculptures, coins, jewelry, and other objects that provide insight into the daily life, religious practices, and artistic achievements of ancient Greece. Some of the most notable exhibits in the museum include the terracotta figurines from the Sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, which depict the goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, and the impressive statues of Roman emperors and members of the imperial family. The museum also houses multimedia exhibits and interactive displays that help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the artifacts and their historical context. Overall, the Museum of Ancient Corinth is an important cultural attraction that provides visitors with a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Ancient Corinth.

An area in Copenhagen that has gotten quite a lot of attention because of its experimental public space and planning is Superkilen, a park in the north west of the city centre. Designed in a collaboration between the arts group Supeflex, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and Topotek1, this park feature an eclectic mix of features, such as a fountain from Morocco, sculptures from Japan and large scale Russian signs. The area this park is located in, Nørrebro, is quite diverse, and the designers set out to reflect this by treating the park as ‘a world exhibition filled with interesting things’, and to represent the nationalities of every local resident. The park is divided into three areas: The Red Square, The Black Market and the Green Park. The Red Square is decorated with red-toned geometric patterns, contains cafés and feels modern and urban. The Black Markets’ ground are painted with white lines that creates almost aerodynamic patterns that curve around the benches and fountain. The Green park is a park for walking the dog, picnics and sports. Bring your camera as this area offers some great photo opportunities!
