In my opinion this is the best bookshop in London, it stocks all my favourite magazines and has a wide selection of photography books, I spend a lot of my time there just browsing through all the books they have. David Bailey once described the place as “maybe the best photography bookshop in the world”

Leeds / Shop

Village is an independent book store and publishing house in the centre of Leeds. The store specialises in self published zines from local to international artists. The store also sells selected art, design and photography books from well established independent publishers. If your ever in the corn exchange make sure you check it out.

White Electric is an eclectic worker owned coffee shop that offers bagel sandwiches, fresh donuts, and every kind of coffee drink imaginable, including the classic Rhode Island "coffee-milk" (made from locally roasted beans) in an off-beat interior.

FiL is a space dedicated to photo books, coffees, delicious cakes and workshops. A bookshop meets café meets gallery at FilBooks, one of Karaköy’s leading cultural hubs. Filled with photo books and various other titles, artworks, stationery and a charming and unusual range of ornamental toy cameras, it’s the perfect place to find a unique souvenir of your time in Turkey. The store often plays host workshops and talks from leading Turkish and international artists and photographers, and, in typical Turkish fashion, FilBooks has its own coffee shop, making it well worth a visit. FiL is a bookshop-coffeeshop where one will be able to find artists’ publications, books on history and theory of photography, journals, children’s books, independent publications and cute little accessories. Also FiL is a meeting place that hosts workshops, artists talks, panels discussions and other collective activities. FiL is a collaborative space or a hub for arts that focuses mainly on photography but its doors is open for other disciplines and ideas. FiL offers delicious coffees, cakes, sandwiches, breakfast. FiL is working on organizing social gatherings aiming to debate around photography, art, design, education and publishing. FiL loves photobooks.

Xiao Yue Shan is a poet, writer, editor, and translator. The collection, then telling be the antidote, won the Tupelo Press Berkshire Prize and is forthcoming in 2023. The chapbook, How Often I Have Chosen Love, won the Frontier Poetry Chapbook Prize and was published in 2019. She has received the New Millennium Award for Poetry and the Juxtaprose Poetry Prize, and has been shortlisted for the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award, the Artlyst Art to Poetry Award, and the Ambit Poetry Competition. Poems have appeared in The Poetry Review, Kenyon Review, Poetry Magazine, Asian American Writers’ Workshop, Poetry Northwest, and more. Prose works have appeared in Granta, 3:AM Magazine, Electric Literature, Cleveland Review of Books, The Shanghai Literary Review, and more. Poem-films have shown in festivals in London, Vienna, New York City, and Athens. Her work has been supported by the Canadian Council for the Arts, BC Arts Council, and Arts Council Tokyo. From 2011 until 2015 he was a professor in "Visual Culture" and "Trend Research" at Milan’s European Institute of Design (IED). He collaborates with a number of international artists, galleries, institutions, art fairs, art prizes, and magazines worldwide. He has been artistic director at DAMA Fair, Turin since 2016. He was also a visiting tutor at Goldsmiths, University of London (2018). Fiona Cribben is an Irish fashion designer living in Iceland since 2007. Currently she is specialising in designing hand crafted jewelry made from whale teeth and reindeer horns using gold and silver. She also designs one off pieces of clothing and shoes made out of reindeer skin, horse skin and bull horns. Iceland is a really inspiring place but she doesn't loose her irish roots. She freelances and lectures in fashion design and also enjoys designing outfits and characters for fashion apps and other large gaming companies.
