The Temple of Hephaestus, also known as the Hephaisteion, is an ancient Greek temple located on the northwest side of the Ancient Agora of Athens. It was built in the 5th century BCE and is considered one of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples in the world. The temple was dedicated to the Greek god Hephaestus, who was the god of metalworking, blacksmiths, and craftsmen. The temple was also sometimes associated with Athena Ergane, the goddess of crafts. The Temple of Hephaestus is a Doric-style temple made of marble and limestone. It features 34 columns and a rectangular floor plan with a central cella (sanctuary) surrounded by a peristyle (a colonnade that surrounds the temple). The friezes on the temple depict scenes from Greek mythology, including the labors of Hercules and the battle between the Lapiths and the Centaurs. Despite being built over 2,400 years ago, the Temple of Hephaestus remains in excellent condition, thanks in part to its use as a Christian church in the Byzantine era. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction and an important example of ancient Greek architecture and engineering.

This is my favorite place in Lawrence. I always enjoy attending the educational events frequently held here. When I first visited, I fell in love with the un-updated look and teal walls with curved archways. When you walk in the front doors, the first thing you see is an incredible panoramic display of mammals. I could stand in front of the panorama forever; I often go there to feel inspired.

Old school Hong Kong style cafe (aka. "cha chaan teng") serving local Western breakfast, lunch and snacks. Ultra-smooth milk tea, fluffy toast and buns, plus the best flaky crust egg tarts in town.

Offering the best loaf of bread in the city, baker/owner Andrés is a Mérida native who learned his craft from a Polish baker in Vietnam. Loaves of crusty Sourdough, Wheat, and Rye are offered alongside local-style pastries like Concha and Classic French croissants. The Huevos Rancheros from their breakfast menu, ladled with a delicate tomato sauce, is the most refined of its kind.

This place is dedicated to art and creation and harbors studios for illustration, clothes, terracotta, potery, leather... Every room has its own beauty and from time to time you can meet the artists and see how they work. The theater company Béliâshe is also present in this old high school and proposes classes, workshops, exhibitions and an interesting program of shows.

Seat covers included in admission, towels can be rented. Open all year round, ice swimming in winter. NB! No own drinks allowed, no reservations, limited entry for groups (max. 3persons).

I've only just discovered this fantastic little salad bar-come-florist right round corner from my studio. It serves freshly made salads that are not only delicious but cheap too! Either take away, or grab the one and only table and eat in.

It is like a fish market, you choose the fish, they cook it for you!

Fav art bookstore in the city (and the world?). Great place for inspiration and reference art, both new and vintage finds. Not very cheap but mostly quite worth it.

Based in the water is the biggest eyecatcher when you visit Groningen. Again, a great architectural building, but this one has a-symmetrical shapes. The Groninger Museum is not only a museum but also a restaurant and an innovative info centre.
