They also have Friday night karaoke, Sunday morning Bingo brunch and you can rent the place out pretty cheap for rock shows.

I discovered this hidden gem by pure chance when i explored the area in one of my lunch breaks. Rochelle Canteen is hidden away behind the walls of three former victorian schools on Arnold Circus in London's Shoreditch. The atmosphere, upon entering the ground, is relaxed almost tranquil. The canteen itself is situated in the old bike shed and the kitchens' size almost belies it's output. The food is distinctively modern British; run by Arnold & Henderson, a household name of britisch cuisine. The guests are local creative types so that the atmosphere is more relaxed then anything else. In the summer you can also sit outside.

This venue has been a host to some of the best underground nights in Leeds and of course by day it is a community centre. I don't know how to put it to words what makes this place special to me, it just is. Subdub which used to be hosted at the WIC had a vibe like no other. The Iration Steppas sound system is one of the loudest sound systems I have ever encountered. If you ever get the chance to go to a SubDub, make sure you take a pair of earplugs.

Emil Kozak is from a small town in Denmark, and was inspired to take on graphic design as a result of his life long passion for skateboarding. He began at an early age to develop his skills, inspired by skateboard-art and album covers. Growing up in Denmark, the long tradition of scandinavian functional minimalism, is inevitable and the result today is a unique artist with brilliant ideas running a studio, a clothing/surfing brand and exhibiting in art-galleries all over the world. He is motivated by a simple goal that resonates throughout his work: ”I hope that my work can remind us that imagination can defy gravity and bend time. It is our own responsibility to enjoy every second of the day. Nobody else can do that for us. Have fun, do what you love, love what you do. We might get thrown off this spinning ball of iron and mantle tomorrow.” He currently lives and works in Barcelona.

Jenny Odell is a Bay Area native/captive who makes art from Google satellite imagery. (Portentiously, Odell was born not 6 miles from where the Google Headquarters would eventually be.) Her work attempts to bring into focus the specificity and fragility of human existence by cataloguing its structures: swimming pools, parking lots, billboards, etc. Her work has been featured at the Google Headquarters and Les Rencontres D'Arles in France, as well as on the NPR Picture Show, Rhizome, Gizmodo, ESPN Magazine, Die Zeit, NEON Magazine, Elephant Magazine, and most bizarrely, a Belgian TV guide that came in the mail with an assortment of gorilla stickers.
