My work focuses on portraiture and intimacy between loved ones and objects. I want to show the tenderness that can be experienced in this world through selective simplicity and tiny details. With our current socio-political cliamte, I think it is important to recognize these often unnoticed moments in our daily lives, and to remember that they exist. My paintings help me move forward openly, by presenting what is good in our world. I'm also part owner of Pilgrim Paper Co. -- a paper goods company based in Seattle, where I currently live!

Lucas Levitan is an illustrator today, filmmaker last week, photographer last month and art director last year. A new cycle might start again soon. A few years ago, whilst lunch break walking on Redchurch Street in East London, a brick fell from the 4th floor scaffolding of a building site and missed his head by millimeters. It made him think he should be doing more or what he loves, drawing. It was a turning point. That same moment he went back to the office he used to work for and resigned. Now he's lost and happier.

Jos Buivenga can be passionate about a lot of things. He loves to paint, listen to music, brew an almost perfect espresso... but nothing challenges and rewards him more than designing type. If ever he was stranded on a desert island he would still draw alphabets in the sand, even if there was no one else to see them. He is the founder of exljbris, the one-man Dutch font foundry through which he releases and offers his typefaces. For 15 years, his online friends and fans could follow the development of his typefaces and download the results at no cost. In 2008, while still working as an art director at an advertising agency, he released his first commercial typeface Museo with several weights offered for free. Industrial designer who creates playful home decor. Founder of Dyslexic Design. Originally trained as a model-maker in the film and television industry. Jim then went on to teach at a special needs school in London before completing a Master’s degree (2006) in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (part of London’s University of the Arts). In 2016, Jim curated an exhibition called Dyslexic Design, which was designed by Ab Rogers and hosted by designjunction. The show challenged perceptions of dyslexia by accentuating its positive effects and its close association with design.

Maria Prieto Barea is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Vienna, Austria. Alongside her artistic and commercial work, Maria also co-owns three of Vienna’s best bars and recently started an illustrated cake blog (www.newcakesontheblock.com).
