Nice atmosfere, cool staff, opened from the first time in the morning til late night... Iter is a good choice for breakfast with coffee and brioche (the way Italians call the croissant), working days lunch (the have a fixed menu) and also for drinks - the menu changes seasonally and has always interesting options. The beach walk along Rue Du Lac between Clarens and Montreux is a real beauty. It's filled with early 20th century Art Noveau architecture, statues, parks and of course, the magnificent backdrop of the Swiss alp mountains. If you go skiing in the alps, a day trip to Montreux is definitely worth the time! But make sure to bring your own picknick, the prices at the restaurants along the beach walk are unreasonable.

Shibaura House is a unique workshop space in an office district. The building was designed by Kazuyo Sejima, an architect who has often worked outside of Japan. The first floor has self-published zines from all over the world, sent in by small publishers. It's kind of like a park: there are tables and chairs that anyone can sit on while looking at the zines. It's free of charge.
