em_bruto is an audio-visual performance that was born with the objective of exploring the interface of the software Pure Data (PD) as a medium of visual composition. Imagining that in this manner it would be possible promote an aestheticization of the “raw” interface of the sofware in an interesting way, as an allusion to the aesthetics of live coding, and so it would be feasible to add new values and meanings to abstract shapes like squares, circles and crosses. read more

Doug Foster has long been fascinated by the intricacy of the human visual system and how it can be fooled by optical illusion. In 1981 he built a walk-in film installation for his degree show that used projected imagery and large mirrors to incorporate its viewers into an infinite panorama. read more

In the garden of Diego Stocco’s house there’s a tree with lots of randomly grown twigs. It looks odd and nice at the same time. One day Diego asked himself if he could create a piece of music with it. All the sounds come from playing the tree, by bowing the twigs, shaking the leaves, playing rhythms on the cortex and so on.
