Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2011

The winner of the prestigious Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2011 has just been announced as Jim Goldberg. He was presented the £30,000 award by broadcaster and critic Miranda Sawyer at a special ceremony at Ambika P3.

Isaac Cordal – Cement eclipses

Cement eclipses is a research project of urban space that runs between the fields of sculpture and photography. The sculpture is used as a starting point and photography as a witness to the execution of installations for later viewing or exhibition. The small pieces (25 cm. Approx) are made in cement, of which copies are reproduced using silicone molds. read more

Alma

Alma is Rodrigo Blaas’ first short film as a director. Originally from Spain, Rodrigo Blaas has worked in animation for more than ten years, in Spain and in the United States. Seizing the possibility of directing his first independent short film, Rodrigo Blaas asked some of the best artists in their field to take part in this independent project: French animator Bolhem Bouchiba, character designer Carlos Grangel, ArtDirector Alfonso Blaas and music composer Mastretta.

I Love Sarah Jane

A bunch of teenagers in a ghost town, full of death and desolation, where adults have turned into zombies. Among them, stands Jimbo (Brad Ashby), madly in love with Sarah Jane (Mia Wasikowska). I Love Sarah Jane (2008) is the wonderful short film directed by australian director Spencer Susser. Now, Three years later it seems that Susser will be going back where he started, and turning his I Love Sarah Jane into a feature length film. One to watch!

Pecknold is the director behind the beautiful crafted stop motion animated videos for groups such as Grizzly Bear While You Wait For The Others, Fleet Foxes White Winter Hymnal and Beach House Used To Be.
